Consolidation Prequalification Questions
To see if you qualify for a loan consolidation, please answer the following questions.
1. Are you or your spouse a member of CDA?
This program is only available to members and their spouses. However, another program, CDA
Family and Friends, has been created for employees, friends, and relatives of CDA members.
To learn more about this program visit: CDA Family and Friends
2. Are you (1) finished with school, (2) will be finished within the next six months or (3) considered to be a less than half-time student?
We're sorry, but federal legislation has eliminated the in-school consolidation option. You are now only able to consolidate if your loans are in a grace period, deferment or forbearance, or in repayment.
3. Do you have at least $40,000 in student loan debt?
We're sorry. You must have at least
$40,000 in federal student loan debt to consolidate. To verify your student loan
balance or discuss consolidation options, please call our consolidation loan
counselors (1-866-302-7367).
4. Are you currently in default on any of your student loans?
We're sorry. Federal regulations do not allow the consolidation
of defaulted loans. Please call our loan counselors (1-866-302-7367)
to see if we can help with your specific situation.
